This lovely little Japanese kyodai vanity mirror came from the Gion Kobu district of Kyoto. It appears to have been made in the 1950s or 60s but may be a bit older than that. It is made of lacquered, Japanese Kiri Paulownia wood. It has one large drawer to store your makeup items. The top surface is glass, textured on the underside. It has a lovely Japanese Tsuru flying crane design on the front of the drawer and a metal handle. Disassembled for packing with the mirror removed. Has chipping in a few places. From use over the years and the mirror has a few very minor spots – no fogging. It is structurally very sound with no cracks or other damage and is perfectly usable with a lovely vintage patina. See photos for details.. In Japan, this would have been used on the floor but it can be used on a table top and would look fantastic with some of our traditional cosmetic brushes & makeup items on it! Mirror Diameter: 27 X 19 cm 10. It will be carefully packed and fully insured with tracking. A kyodai is a mirrored Japanese dressing stand or miniature table with one or more drawers. _gsrx_vers_837 GS 7.0.15 (837).
